Satin Short/Long Grain Solid Brass Sheet - Rotary Engravable
These pre-polished, lacquer-finished solid brass sheets have a satin long grain finish perfect to engrave with either diamond drag or a burnisher cutter. Not recommended for laser engraving without using a laser etching spray.
What is the difference between long grain and short grain finish?
Long grain brass sheets receive a "hairline" finish, this additional polishing gives the appearance that the grain runs continuously throughout the sheet. A short grain finish has a grain pattern of short intermittent lines achieved during the polishing process.
Ideal for interior signs, awards/plaques, pet tags, industrial labeling, and memorial plaques.
- Solid brass
- .016" (.4mm) thickness
- 12" x 24" sheets
- Bright gold finish when engraved
- Use Brass Black to darken or create contrast after rotary engraving
- Use CerMark LM6000 or CerMark Ultra for laser etching
- Sheets come with a clear, protective masking
- The finished side of the brass (masked side) has a thin clear lacquered coating
- Recommend using a metal shear for best cutting results
