Product Technology Icons Explained

The product pages on jpplus.com contain specific icons under the overview tab that show the capabilities of how our products can be personalized and used. Let’s take a look at what each icon represents.

Laser engraving iconLaser engraving icon
Laserable (Laser Engraving)

Products that have this symbol have been tested and can be safely cut, engraved, and marked with a laser. Suggested laser settings for laserable items can be found on the product page on jpplus.com under the Downloads tab. Acrylic core materials with thin cap surfaces can be easily engraved with minimal wattage at increased speeds. ABS materials are not recommended for lasering applications.

Rotary Engravable

Products that have this symbol can be safely cut, engraved, and marked with a rotary engraver or router. This process is suitable for most commercial and industrial sheet work. Unlike diamond-drag, rotary engraving is the only means of engraving plastic materials with controlled depth.

Front engravable iconFront engravable icon
Front Engravable

Products that have this symbol feature a top layer that can be removed to create a contrasting mark with the base layer on a rotary and/or laser engraver.

Reverse engravable iconReverse engravable icon
Reverse Engravable

Products that have this symbol have a clear top layer with micro-surface or laminated core, machined from the reverse or backside of the material. Back-painting is a popular method of achieving contrast in color. Learn more about reverse engraving here.

UV-LED Printing iconUV-LED Printing icon
UV-LED Printable

Products have been tested and the front/top layer will accept marking and images from a UV-LED printer.

Sublimation iconSublimation icon
Sublimation

Products have been tested for sublimation and have the necessary polyester coating developed to accept unique sublimatable inks.

Toner heat transfer iconToner heat transfer icon
Toner Heat Transfer

Products have been tested and the front/top layer will accept transfers created with a toner-based heat transfer printer.

Vinyl application iconVinyl application icon
Vinyl Application

Products have been tested and the top/front layer will accept vinyl application.

Cermark iconCermark icon
Cermark

Products have been tested for engraving with the use of Cermark marking spray. Typically used on hard surface products such as metals, glass, ceramics, stone, brick, slate and more. Learn more about using Cermark here.

ADA/Tactile iconADA/Tactile icon
ADA/Tactile

Products are matte, non-glare acrylic sheet materials specially designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Federal regulations. Braille-engravable, routable sheets come in a wide variety of color combinations. Learn more about creating ADA-compliant signs here.

Indoor Use

Products are intended for use in indoor applications where UV-stability and weather-ability are not required.

Outdoor weatherable iconOutdoor weatherable icon
Outdoor Weatherable

Products have been tested for outdoor weatherability, although no specific lifespan can be designated to any product due to varying conditions.

UV Stable iconUV Stable icon
UV-Stable

Products have been tested for UV stability to maintain colorfastness in direct sunlight conditions, although no specific lifespan can be designated to any product due to varying conditions.

UL Approved iconUL Approved icon
UL Approved

Products have been UL approved for components products - yellowcard E354751.

Fiber Laser iconFiber Laser icon
Fiber Laserable

This material is specifically engineered to produce a contrasting mark when used with Fiber/YAG lasers found in industrial applications for high-volume marking. This material will not perform correctly if used with a traditional CO2 laser.
