- Bad QualityIncentivized Review0 people found this helpfulThis new MDF material is of inferior quality. There is significantly more wrapping after pressing. Also, it's not very easy wiping off smoke residue from the back. My customers have been complaining about the change in quality but I have no choice but to continue ordering and potentially lose my customers as a result. Please do something about this ASAP

Thank you for your review, Sankofa. We're sorry to hear that the MDF is not working as well as the old hardboard backer did! You could try our new Premium Sublimation Hardboard: https://www.jpplus.com/premium-sublimation-hardboard-sheet. We also continue to work closely with Unisub on the changes being made to this product. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - UGH0 people found this helpfulI have to chime in here—this whiteboard used to be my absolute go-to for years. Unfortunately, the recent switch to the MDF backer has really changed things for the worse. It’s noticeably weaker, and the warping issues make it very difficult to work with. I genuinely hope JPPlus considers finding a new supplier soon.

Thank you for your review, E.L. Gifts. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the change from Hardboard to MDF that Unisub made! Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - My latest batch of boards are charring terribly, 1 people found this helpfulThis is a big seller for me in my shop, and lately it is burning consistantly to the point where I cannot even peel the protective film off. This latest batch is terrible. I usually buy the 25 sheet bundle every couple of weeks and this is a nightmare. At first I thought it was my machine but then I pulled out an old stock piece and it was fine. I'm scared to think I cannot get the old material and what I'm going to use instead. This is my bread and butter!

Thank you for your review, Jerseygrl. Unfortunately Unisub had to change their hardboard backing to MDF because they can no longer get the original hardboard. There was a period of time where Unisub had a different backing before it moved to the MDF. Perhaps your shipment was still the old backing. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - So disappointedIncentivized Review0 people found this helpfulThis new board is horrible. I value my products for my customers on the Great product previously provided. This material is a cheap version at the same price. Already complaints regarding the quality. I the light color looks cheap and it feels cheap. It chars terrible on the back and impossible to clean off. Please bring back the other product. I will have to look for other alternatives until then.

Thank you for your review, Ieshia. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the quality of the new MDF sheets. Unfortunately, Unisub's hardboard supplier can no longer get the old hardboard backing. There was a period of time when this had a "new" hardboard backing and that had some quality issues, so it has now changed to MDF. Perhaps your shipment was still the bad backing. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - Not the sameIncentivized Review2 people found this helpfulThe material is no longer cutting the same.... not happy, wasted a whole board .....never had this problem with the sub mdf. I guess they've changed something in the product

Thank you for your review, LL. We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with the updated hardboard sheet! Unisub did have to change vendors of the backing recently and has since updated again to an MDF backer instead of hardboard. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - Hate the new MDF, Please bring back the hardboard2 people found this helpfulThe new MDF is a light color and much more porous. It's not as strong under the heat and bends a little after pressing. It feels cheap and looks cheap. The previous hardboard had a smooth finish, was much more durable, doesn't absorb humidity as well, and doesn't show any laser marks. Please have Unisub bring back the hardboard. I've built years of trust on quality and now am having to pivot on everything I use to make these, which is a ton of my products. The licensing companies that have approved some of my products require quality, and MDF is not quality.

Thank you for your review, Birdie. We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with the new MDF that Unisub is using for their products. Unfortunately, they are no longer able to get the hardboard they were previously using. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out. - Sublimation coating peels off1 people found this helpfulI usually love the products that JPPlus provides, but this is not one of them. When peeling the masking off, half the time the coating comes off with it. Not sure if its the batch that I got or if its something else. Everything else made by Unisub doesnt have this problem.

Thank you for your review, Titus. We're sorry to hear about the coating peeling off when you peel the masking! Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly to see what we can do to help you out! - Unisub Hardboard0 people found this helpfulWhilst there was an issue with the new hardboard, johnson plastics - aka Jennifer - quickly resolved the issue - followed through with the problem and are now working on bringing back the original product. In the meantime they replaced the defective hardboard speedily with the good quality one
- Don't like the new woodIncentivized Review1 people found this helpfulThis new wood they are having to use is crappy. It's light colored backing, feels cheap to the touch and the lasers don't like it at all! I am having to cut this wood and an extremely high power and slowest speed. It's gonna fry my tube. Then I have to push the blank out and sand around the edges to make it smooth .. I really want to continue to order from here as they are the only ones I prefer to order from but I can't deal with this new wood :( PLEASE bring back the other wood!

Thank you for your review. Our product and purchasing departments continue to work with Unisub on the challenges with the new MDF board being used for this product. Our customer service department will reach out to you shortly as well to see what we can do to help you out! - Update on New Sublimation Hardboard issues1 people found this helpfulUnisub 6067-SHT Matte Researching the poor quality of the new Unisub material I found the new MDF is made from eucalyptus therefore the reason for the very HIGH moisture content. Even cut in 4x6" sizes it warps badly just after the sublimation heat press process. I put a weight on it and it helps the warp but not the moisture. The moisture is what makes the back side no longer hard but soft and flakes off so very easy. The tape from tapping the transfer pulls the backing off. Please bring back the Tempered Hardboard sheets in Matte. China sources I find only have gloss although a much superior product than Unisub at the moment. Unisub support is totally unresponsive.
