    Overall a decent set of coasters to laser engrave 1 people found this helpful

    I have laser etched several of these in round and square and in all the different colors. -- Overall they are decent with just some very random quality issues in that I have had one here or there with a slight flaw that I was able to etch over but still there should be zero flawys as these are a set and not individuals that I can just grab an extra to replace. SO one star is knocked off for that. -- Set your laser power low or you will burn though especially the black. On the black there is a thin silver layer you etch to but just a tad too much power and you will etch through that. -- On my my 55 watt laser I etched at 13.5 watts at 275mms and that was good. At 17.5 watts I was just etching through in spots. -- The brown colors were a bit more tolerant as I do not think they have a color layer like the black but you have to test on your machine. Just start real low especially on black because just a tad high and it looks like it is not etching completely in places whereas in reality you are burning through the silver slightly.
