Can Glowforge® Spark cut and engrave clear material?

The Glowforge® Spark uses a diode laser, which is ineffective on transparent materials like clear acrylic. Diode lasers have difficulty interacting with transparent surfaces, making it hard for the Spark to cut or engrave them properly. In contrast, CO2 lasers, like those in other Glowforge® models, are more suitable for cutting and engraving clear materials, providing clean and accurate results.

Can Glowforge Spark cut metal?

No, the Glowforge® Spark cannot cut metal. It uses a diode laser, which is not powerful enough to cut through metal materials.
